Below are some useful resources you may want to share with your networks and on your site.
With the implementation of the Affordable Care Act underway, “Ten Ways Your Legal Aid Program Can Connect Clients to Health Insurance Opportunities” may be a useful resource for attorneys in your network to be aware of. This is also linked at the HHS “Health Insurance Marketplace“. Thanks to Karen Lash of the Access to Justice Initiative for pointing out this useful resource.
The Immigration Advocates Network – a project of Pro Bono Net – has partnered with Transcend to create a new plain language flyer in English, Spanish and Chinese that explains what undocumented immigrants can do now to prepare for possible immigration reform. The flyer is translated by certified linguists, written at the 6th grade level, and field-tested.
Please note: It’s a good idea to underscore in your description of this resource that there is not currently a new law. This resource was created only as a starting point to help undocumented immigrants prepare in the event that there is a new law and to help them avoid notario/provider fraud.
